The solution arrived last night to several things that I have a hard time managing some weeks- while I was responding to an email from a customer before the day ended. Just hit all of a sudden. Creativity is like that for me- completely absent for hours/days/weeks, then it arrives suddenly. Like last night.

(Some of ) My problems: Verifying every customer ticket at a busy show, monitoring a theater auditorium and getting other work done,  ensuring a perfect experience for guests once they're inside the auditorium.

The solution: Guest Ushers.

(This is where the free movie part comes in)

Your chance to see movies, free. Kind of. We'd like to share the theater staff experience with some of our regular customers while you're under no obligation- if you wouldn't mind checking tickets, sweeping a few stray popcorn kernels up, or letting us know if the crowd becomes unruly...

Our Guest Usher program has arrived.

Sign up in advance, we'll post dates and times we could use a Guest Usher, and if it works for you- sign up! You'll arrive 30-45 minutes before the show, assist with sweeping up, taking tickets or seating customers & being helpful toward customers in general. Once the movie starts, you'll take your reserved seat, and enjoy the show. Unless that is, there is something amiss in the theater- and then you'll just let us know so we can take care of it. You'll be our eyes and ears to guarantee a flawless experience for the rest of the audience. You don't have to tell anyone to take their feet down, or clean up a bathroom mess, or work the register. Just be helpful and extend our ability to provide a quality experience.

Interested? The program will change and grow from here- but we'll start with Avatar on Friday. Please email me directly if you're interested. Include your name and phone number, email address and anything else that may be helpful as we select a group of Guest Ushers.

I would anticipate great interest in this opportunity, so we'll see how it goes- the program will evolve each week into a great solution. It will also be a chance to offer our regular customers a perk, and hopefully create a program that will become a model for customer focused theaters to follow.
