Ask and you shall receive (maybe)

I like to hear from you, even the weekly
writers. One of the most helpful pieces of input I
receive comes along the lines of film suggestions.
Since I can't listen to every talk show, watch
every channel (our family doesn't have TV), or
read every article about new films that are out
there - I need your help!
There's a lot of great film that will never make it to Estes Park. Several reasons: 1) We don't know about it, 2) The audience for a niche film isn't large enough to financially justify a week long run, and 3) We don't have enough screens to play every film in a timely manner.
We're OK with 3 screens- it's plenty of space in the winter, and manageable in the summer. The other two issues have been largely solved by our customers. We have been booking some smaller films for 2 days over a weekend with some success, thanks to you folks sharing the news about great films among each other. Word of mouth is powerful, but tough to manage. We're hoping that if we keep booking the films, you'll keep helping us promote them and we can keep them coming. Fair warning though: we are booking based on attendance. Vote with your $5 bill, and see a movie!
Finally, as far as knowing about films? Well, you keep us well abreast of new films that interest YOU. The Hurt Locker booking was a result of a customer suggesting it as the director was being discussed on talk radio- he called as he was listening to ask if we could play it. Done. The Horse Boy (showing this weekend) came up after a discussion with some horse enthusiasts in the lobby... Done
So, keep the commentary coming, next month we may play the film that YOU suggest.
